Why this project?
- I moved to the US in 2011 from Italy without knowing anyone and fully understanding the market and culture. It was tough but I learned so much. Now, I want to help people that are going through the same experience and want to learn from leaders.
- I am an advocate for high-skilled immigration. Just look at the stats: 43% of Fortune 500 companies were founded by 1st or 2nd generation immigrants. An example? Steve Jobs’s father was a Syrian immigrant and Steve founded Apple, one of the most innovative companies of our times.
- I love technology and innovation and to connect with people working on exciting projects that are making a positive impact in our world.
About the host
Giacomo Ravo is passionate about technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship. He is a senior product manager with an engineering soul and a global mindset. Since he was young he has been wanting to change the world through science and technology. When he was a kid he was always “breaking” computers and technology products because he wanted to understand how they worked, now he has the opportunity to work on new technologies and to make an impact in the industry by supporting the launch of great products that can solve real problems. He moved to Austin, TX in 2011 and worked for Flex and Dell while attending the Evening MBA program at McCombs Business school at the University of Texas. Giacomo met many international entrepreneurs and professionals in the US and was inspired by their stories. He created this platform to share these stories and to provide resources to help them be successful.
